When should I neuter/spay my dog?

That's going to be ultimately up to you and your vet. Their recommendation will be based on your dog's age, gender and breed. if you're not entirely sure or in agreement with what your vet is suggesting, you can always seek a second or third opinion, from other veterinarians.

What is the best way to communicate with a dog that doesn't listen or respond to commands?

By looking into why they’re not responding in the first place. Some common reasons for this:

The environment you’re in is either too distracting/not one you’re both ready for.

You need to work on your bond and connection first, and in much easier, less distracting settings first, and work your way up.

Your dog is feeling unsure in those particular settings and is almost shutting down or just doesn’t know how/what to do instead.

And so the best you can communicate to your dog is by first making sure that you’re trying to do so in environments where you feel you can both be successful in, otherwise if ever you feel disconnected from your dog, the best thing you ca do is walk away with them and decide if you’d like to come…

What works to help your dogs who are scared of the fireworks?

I tend to stay away from treats when a dog isn’t feeling sure or safe, (or anywhere close to) because worst case scenario you risk associating that to the treat/you giving it to them. Save treats for when your dog is feeling/has done something good, to maintain that association, like for after the fireworks have ended and your dog feels better.

Something you can try in the moment is to help your dog move. If they're small enough you can pick them up and carry them as you move along. If they really don’t want to move or walk with you indoors at all, then your best…

Help needed !! How do you get a puppy if you work full-time?

My partner and I are getting a puppy in a couple of weeks, and the breeder has said to get her used to our normal routine as soon as possible. But all I have seen is people saying that you can only leave them for 30 minutes- a couple of hours max, which we simply can't do when we both work full time.

We are lucky to be at home 4 days a week, sometimes more- but surely not everyone who gets a dog works from home full-time? Or is around 24/7? Any feedback /suggestions on how to navigate this will be very appreciated.

(We do have a backup plan for if we can't leave her whilst we go to work - but it involves her living elsewhere which really isn't going to be ideal). We don't…
